    • It is easy to underestimate all that it takes to make a lawn look its best. Details such as maintaining sharp mower blades, mowing at the proper height, and alternating the mowing patterns all play a role in making the difference between a good lawn and a great lawn.
    • Lawns are mowed in alternating directions to give the lawn that “golf course fairway” pattern. We use a mowing technique that returns mulched clippings to the turf. The benefit of this technique is that as the clippings decompose they return mineral nutrients back to the soil, improving the soil conditions. Of course, if you prefer the clippings to be bagged, we are more than happy to customize our mowing service to suit your wishes.
    • With each weekly mowing service we include string trimming as well as 90 degree edging along sidewalks, patios, and driveways to give your lawn a beautiful manicured look. To finish off each mow service, we make sure that all areas are cleaned of clippings and debris so you can enjoy your lawn without worrying about a mess.
    • If your lawn needs special attention, we will create a maintenance plan that fulfills your unique needs. Any detail of our mowing service can be customized for you. Let us show you how this attention to detail will make your lawn look its very best!

    Over-seeding
The regular maintenance of a lawn often requires over-seeding. Even with a proper treatment program, lawns can be damaged by disease, summer stress, pest damage, and natural die off. This will thin out a lawn, or create bare areas throughout.  Fall seeding repairs this damage and returns your lawn to looking lush, green, and beautiful.

For the best results and to ensure a high germination rate, proper watering after over-seeding is needed. Click here for watering instructions.

    Core Aeration

This service helps reduce thatch, aids in root growth, and increases turf nutrient intake.

Core aeration is often done in conjunction with over-seeding for the best turf health.

Keeping your family safe is important to you. During winter months, snow and ice can create dangerous condition on driveways and sidewalks. We remove snow and ice to give you peace of mind as well as sure footing.

Salts and other chemical ice melts can possibly cause damage to your lawn. To avoid this damage, we use only snow blowers and shovels to remove the snow. Of course, as with all of our services, we will be happy to tailor our service to your needs. If you prefer to have ice melt spread after the snow has been removed, we use products that are designed to keep snow and ice cleared while having the lowest possible impact on your lawn.

It's an annual task most homeowners don't relish: leaf clean-up. The trees that provide such beauty during spring, summer and fall eventually drop their foliage, relegating homeowners with tree-lined properties to a dusty, dirty chore. It's not recommended to let a layer of dead leaves build up on your lawn, or you risk killing the grass, perhaps for good.

We can clean the leaves from all areas of your property and dispose of them so you can enjoy a clean, healthy, beautiful lawn.

Let our design staff create a truly custom landscape for your home or business. A well designed landscape will add beauty to enjoy for many years to come, as well as add value to your property.

Here are some tips to help you make an educated choice about your landscape:

Think about what you want and how you will use your landscape. Formal entertaining, herb gardens, and children's playgrounds are all possibilities. Don't limit yourself to plants and trees; maybe you would like a fence, a fountain, a deck, a patio, or other outdoor element.

Make a realistic budget. One rule of thumb is to invest 2 to 5 percent, and up to 10 percent of your house's worth. If this seems steep, consider that appropriate landscape improvements are estimated to return 100 to 200 percent of their cost when a house is sold.

Look at books and magazines for ideas and start a file of plants, trees, gardens, yards, pools, patios, decks, fences, etc., that you like--or dislike--to show your landscape designer. Also visit our plant index using the link on this site's home page. This will help you communicate what you want to achieve-or avoid.

Ask about maintenance. Some homeowners enjoy working in their yards and gardens, some hire a service to do it, and others don't want to bother with it at all. Be sure to let your landscape designer know how you feel about the upkeep of your investment.

    Landscape Investment

According to Money magazine (May 2003), spending on landscape design and installation has more than tripled in the past five years, hitting $14.3 billion in 2002. And no wonder-it offers the best return on investment of any home improvement you can make. Many savvy homeowners are hiring landscape designers to help them realize their dreams.

Homes with nice landscaping are likely to see sale prices that are 4 percent to 5 percent higher compared to similar properties in the neighborhood, according to the Guide for Plant Appraisal, published by the International Society of Arboriculture. And homes with landscapes that are not as nice as others in the neighborhood could see sales prices that are 8 percent to 10 percent lower. Eighty-four percent of the real estate agents interviewed for the study said a house with trees would be as much as 20 percent more salable than a house without trees. Baltimore Sun
